U staat nu op duinovergang Erica (Nederlandse naam)
Erika (Duitse naam) was tijdens de tweede wereld oorlog een Duitse radarpost Stp. Undine als u naar boven loopt begrijpt u waarom. Vanaf de top van deze duin heeft een geweldig uitzicht over de Westerschelde en het voormalige eiland Walcheren. Bovenop de duin staat ook een windroos zodat je kunt zien welke kant Engeland op is.
Ook ziet u hier de KNRM post van Westkapelle.Dit reddingstation is 24 uur per dag oproepbaar voor het helpen en redden van mensen op het water. Hulpverlening door de KNRM wordt kosteloos uitgevoerd door vrijwilligers. Met dank aan donateurs wordt de KNRM al sinds 1824 door vrijwillige bijdragen in stand gehouden.
Aan de rechterkant van het KNRM station staat een monument wat herinnert aan het offer wat de Britse Marine heeft gebracht bij de landing op Westkapelle op 1 november 1944.
"t Grôôt Ôôd is de lange steiger die voor het monument staat deze werd vroeger gebruikt als paalhoofd ter bescherming van de kust; als aanlegsteiger voor loodsen en om materiaal voor dijkversterkingen aan wal te brengen; en nu vooral als toeristische trekpleister voor vissers, wandelaars en overige recreanten.

You are now at dune crossing Erica (Dutch name) Erika (German name) was during the second world war a German radar post Stp. Undine if you walk up you will understand why. From the top of this dune you have a great view over the Westerschelde and the former island of Walcheren. On top of the dune there is also a compass rose so you can see which way England is going.
You can also see the KNRM post of Westkapelle. This rescue station is on call 24 hours a day for helping and rescuing people on the water. Aid by the KNRM is provided free of charge by volunteers. Thanks to donors, the KNRM has been maintained by voluntary contributions since 1824. On the right-hand side of the KNRM station, there is a monument reminiscent of the sacrifice made by the British Navy during the landing at Westkapelle on 1 November 1944.
"t Grôôt Ôôd is the long jetty that stands in front of the monument and was formerly used as a pile head to protect the coast; as a jetty for sheds and to bring equipment for dike reinforcements ashore; and now mainly as a tourist attraction for fishermen, walkers and others.
