This cache is located on BLM lands in the South Klamath Hills. Entry is via the trailhead off of Lower Lake Road (coordinates below). Follow the trail for awhile then set off cross country. It’s about 1.5 miles as the eagle flies, but you will NOT want to take that route. Plan your route carefully . It will be strenuous given a 900 foot elevation climb from the trailhead parking lot.
Elevation at the trailhead parking lot: 4123 feet
Elevation at Cache: 5017 feet
The minimal trail disappears in a half mile or so and the rest of the journey is across rocky terrain. Careful choice of route can making walking a little easier. Watch for rattlesnakes. When you spot the cache, remove it carefully - could be critters with it!
