- 2016. gadam.

[ENG]  Stairs to the Gauja's bridge.

Locals call these simply as stairs, because these are the most popular and most used stairs that go down from Sigulda to the river Gauja. Tourists are one of the largest users of the stairs, because that is the shortest route to Gutman cave and the Turaida Museum Reserve. Wooden stairs have been around in Sigulda since ancient times. They have been renovated many times, but the most significant renovation project happened form year 2013 to 2016. Before the renovation, wooden stairs were thick wooden boards placed on the ground. However, since the year 2016, all wooden stairs in the vicinity of Sigulda have been rebuilt, this time - a meter high from the ground.

Stairs to the Gauja's bridge are 250 meters long and consists of 441 steps.

In the cache, there is a logbook and a pencil, but you're welcome to bring your own pen. Good luck!
