Evan approached the stone monoliths and almost staggered. His whole life had led him to this event. All the investigation, studying, and historical readings indicated he was on the right track. Stonehendge. He had seen the pictures, knew each stone by memory from the multitude of photographs he had studied, but had never visited them until now.
Johan came up from behind Evan and startled him, asking "Are you sure you want to do this?". "I am 99% sure that I understand these markings and have come up with a solution using standard ascii characters." Evan replied. "Here, you hold onto these" Evan said as he handed Johan a handful of papers. "If my calculations are correct, there are a set of stones in California that will act as a 2 way transportation gateway from this location."
Evan walked over to one of the stones and laid a small device at the foot one of the larger stones. Then he pulled a tube of M&Ms out of his pocket, flipped open the top, and poured the contents into his mouth. "You picked a funny time to pig out on M&Ms Evan" Johan said dryly. "It's supposed to help minimize the dimensional sickness" Evan said.
Evan checked his watch, looked over at Johan, smiled and vanished into thin air. Johan rubbed his eyes, not believing what he had just witnessed. When he looked again, there was Evan standing calmly like nothing had happpened. "You dissapeared momentarily, I'm sure of it" said Johan quickly. Evan nodded. "Where did you go?" "California, like I thought." "How can you prove you were there?" "I left the magnetic micro container about 12 feet north of the standing stones" Evan said smugly. "The location of the stones is encoded in the sheets I handed you."
Johan looked at the sheets. "I see hundreds of jumbled coordinates, but I don't know what to make of them. Did you decrypt them?" Evan smiled a wry smile and said "There was no decryption necessary, I was examining the pages for a long while when the answer just sort of jumped out at me. If anyone doesn't believe that I went to California and back, they can just get the coords like I did, and travel to California and find the magnetic micro container I left. There is even a log sheet to record that you saw the container and are a believer."
