Geocache Description:

Are you looking for the perfect place to leave your Travel Bug that will allow it to travel around the world? At the Gateway to the World TB Motel, your companion will have easy access to three International Airports, a busy port and well-traveled Interstate Highways.

This is a puzzle cache that will take you away from the hustle and bustle of city life and expose you to a different state, some beautiful scenery and allow you to do what few people are allowed to do - leave New Jersey for free!

The puzzle is quite simple, and if you keep reading, I will give you instructions on how to get close to the possible final locations using public transportation. Both possibilities afford great views, but only one will lead you to the cache.

Here's the puzzle:

Go to the posted coordinates and read the information on the object located there.

Does it say...."This Fountain is a Gift of..."

Andrew Carnegie. If so, go to N 40.51.155 W 073.57.662

George T. Delacorte. If so, go to N 40.51.270 W 073.57.739

Now....how do you get close, you ask? Here are detailed instructions: From the location of the posted coordinates - jump on the "A" train headed UPTOWN. Stay on the train to the 175th St. Station (GWB Bus Station). When you exit the train, turn towards the front of the train and walk to the last set of stairs. Go up. Continue in the same direction - you will enter a tunnel that leads to the bus station. After walking through the tunnel, you will see a set up stairs on your left (this is immediately after the tunnel). Go up the stairs and exit through the doors. 178th street should be on your left. If not, you missed a turn somewhere, but you should still be in the vicinity of 178th street. Cross 178th street (to the south) and then walk West along 178th. You will come to a ramp on your left that is the bike/walking path across the George Washington Bridge - one of the most heavily traveled bridges in the world. Cross the bridge into New Jersey. When you reach the end of the bridge, you have to make a decision. Choice 1 (Andrew Carnegie) will take you left - walk down the sidewalk until you reach the Fort Lee Historical Park. Choice 2 (George Delacorte) will take you right - cross under the overpass and go up the stairs, following the "Long Trail". For either choice, you and your GPS are on your own once you get over the bridge.

Once you are in the area, do a little exploring. There are at least two other caches within easy walking distance as well as a plethora of beautiful views and historical venues.

This is a TB Motel - take some, leave some - let's keep these bugs moving!

Notes:
It will take approximately 1 hour and a $2.25 Metrocard (one way) to complete this cache.

Gates for both choices close at sunset.

Take normal urban travel precautions.
