Geocache Description:

Let's visit geographic center of the Finger Lakes - Seneca Lake.

Seneca Lake was named for the Seneca Indian Nation, one of the six nations of the Iroquois Confederacy who used to inhabit the area. The word Seneca is derived from the Indian name assiniki, which means, "place of stone" or "stony place". Seneca Lake has the steepest shoreline of all the Finger Lakes, particularly at the southern end.

Excerpt from "Persons, Places and Things IN the Finger Lakes Region" by Emerson Klees

This is an EASY geocache. You can park at the northern tip of the lake in the City of Geneva off Rts. 5 & 20.

Here is the simple rule to log this cache as found:

When you find the exact spot, take a photo of yourself and your GPS at the cache location. Take the picture so that it doesn't completely give away the exact location or path to the cache. Upload your photo immediately after submitting your log report. The photo at the bottom of this page will help you find the right place to stand.

The idea for this cache was borrowed from Anton.

Also, plan to visit this cache, Walkin' On Water.

Will you be the next geocacher to cache a Finger Lake?
