Geocache Description:

Micro cache at the new Bailey Avenue Overcrossing of the Coyote Creek Trail

This is the last of 3 caches placed along the Coyote Creek Trail today. By the time I got here, I only had a micro left to place. I saw this location, which is the new Bailey Avenue over-crossing. I thought this would be a good place for a micro to mark this important spot. From here, you can cross over Hwy 101 and Monterey Highway. You can continue on Bailey Avenue west to reach Santa Teresa Blvd. and Calero County Park. If you go east, you can reach Field Sports County Park and Metcalf Road. This cache is located a short distance from the trail. This can be a busy trail, so watch out for muggles. It's a micro-cache, a little longer, but skinnier than a film can. It has room for very tiny trading items. I came here by bike along the Coyote Creek Trail, which is the preferred method to get here. I don't know where the closest legal parking is. I don't think you can park on the bridge. You may be able to park on the dirt east of 101. You also may be able to park on Monterey Highway and walk up the bridge. This used to be a waterproof match container, but it got muggled. It was replaced a short distance away with a smaller container, which has room for a cache log only. 6/13/08 update: the cache was muggled, either deliberately or accidentally. I replaced it with an identical one nearby, using the same cover. 7/1/08 update: the replacement was muggled. I replaced it with a cheaper, but bigger container farther down the main trail and farther from the trail, but in a similar manner. 8/27/17 update: the cache disappeared. I replaced it with a similar cache and replaced it near the last location, but a little easier to reach. 5/16/20 update: cache replaced with a camo'd pill bottle. It only contains a pencil. It should be easier to reach, but with a more secure cover. For more on the Coyote Creek Trail, see: http://www.rhorii.com/bayareaparks/CoyoteCreekTrail/CoyoteCreekTrail.html
