gettin-away to the mosquito infested island Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

gettin-away: Paddled out today to change the log book and grab the bug to move it on. No mosquitos....but ants everywhere. Cache was full of them and the surrounding area was being converted to ant condos. After finding myself covered in ants I decided to pull the cache rather then replace it. Fighting Mother Natures little biting minions takes the fun out of the game.

Container removed and site looks just the way I found it!!

Thank you to all who visited. I have enjoyed sharing in your adventures.

Geocache Description:

Located on an Island in Lake Panemah

What started out as a short paddle around the Linden Mill Pond with Rambler1 turned into a bit of exploring. We paddled up the Shiawassee River into Tupper Lake and then into Lake Ponemah. Took a break on this island and we happen to have a small ready to go cache on board one of the kayaks so we dropped it off here. It's a little plastic container about 4"x4"x2" wrapped in camo. Not big enough for large items...mainly the log book and sig cards or small things. Lotsa heavy growth and mosquitoes so be quick or use bug spray. You'll need a boat to reach the island and of you're observant you might see a Bald Eagle nearby.

If you use the nearby publc access there is a $6.00 fee for parking.
