***NOTE - IF YOU CHOOSE TO ENTER FITZROY
PROVINCIAL PARK AND MAKE THE FIND FROM A CLOSER VANTAGE POINT,
THERE WILL BE A $14 CHARGE PER VEHICLE, IF YOU STAY MORE THAN 1/2
AN HOUR.***
***NOTE#2 - I AM NOT SURE HOW WELL THE WATER
AROUND THIS ISLAND FREEZES IN THE WINTER. WHILE THE WATER ISN'T
OVERLY DEEP, IT MOVES QUICKLY WITH IT'S PROXIMITY TO THE HYDRO DAM.
IF YOU DO DECIDE TO ATTEMPT AN ICE CROSSING, PLEASE USE CAUTION AND
TRAVEL WITH A FRIEND.***
When I first started caching, I read on a forum about a local
cacher who had strung together 367 days of caching. I thought to
myself how difficult this would be. I tried and managed 11 days. I
kept trying, but could not manage to string together more than 7 or
8 days without something coming up that stopped my streak.
Then one day I checked my stats and realized I was on a 9 day
streak and decided it was time to get past 11 days so I pushed on
through. Those 9 days turned into 10, then 11, then the next thing
I know I was at 50. After that, the streak seemed to take control.
I would say to myself, "How can I stop now, I've come this
far..."
I decided to set up this challenge cache, even thought there is
one already in the area, I don't feel it exemplifies the true
dedication some may have for this game.
In order to log this cache you must simply do 1 thing: Sting
together 100 days in a row of cache finds.
You can prove this by either sending a list of your finds to me
from over the 100 days, create a public bookmark list, or use one
of the many stats generators out there. If you don't have a premium
geocaching.com profile, we'll figure something else out.
If you are logging this cache during a current streak, it CAN be
logged on your 100th day, but it CAN'T be the first find on that
day.
You have to have 100 consecutive days of caching, BEFORE
logging this find.
Because of the amount of work involved in logging this cache, I
will accept Current streaks, as well as previous streaks.
You will need a boat to find this cache as it is on an island.
I've included the Co-ordinates for the public boat launch in
Fitzroy Harbor
Please be careful when approaching the island, as it is in
fairly close proximity to the Fitzroy hydro dam and as we all know,
water levels around hydro dams can change rapidly.
I've also attached a dymo tag to a tree very near to the cache
hide, if you find the dymo, your very close. You should also look
at the inside of the lid when you grab the cache. There may be a
quiz.
Any Logs not meeting the criteria of this challenge will be
deleted.
On a completely unrelated note, I placed this cache while staying
in Fitzroy Provincial Park, and while I can't place caches in the
park boundry, I found an interesting place in the park, if you
happen to be staying there, check it out. It is an old grave
marker. I've included a waypoint for it.
