A Academia de Ginástica de Guimarães é um edifício ambientalmente de referência, construído com materiais inovadores, tecnologia de ponta e um elevado grau de eficiência energética, ao consumir a energia produzida pelo próprio imóvel. Localizado perto do Parque da Cidade, nas imediações da Escola Santos Simões, o equipamento integrará o processo de candidatura que Guimarães vai apresentar a Capital Verde Europeia 2020.
Ambientalmente de excelência, com recuperações de calor e consumos energéticos compatíveis com o uso, próximos da autossustentabilidade, o edifício beneficia da orientação solar livre e relaciona-se com o Parque da Cidade e encosta da Penha, interligando-se igualmente com a Ecovia de Guimarães. Ao mesmo tempo, todas as águas, pluviais e não só, serão reaproveitadas e utilizadas após o respetivo tratamento, que será efetuado no edifício devidamente equipado para o efeito.
Com uma função fundamentalmente formativa, a Academia de Ginástica constitui um dos principais e mais estratégicos projetos para a continuação da promoção da política desportiva de Guimarães, mantendo o concelho no topo ao nível internacional, contemplando a prática das disciplinas de Ginástica Rítmica, Ginástica Artística e Ginástica Acrobática.

About the Gymnasium of Guimarães
The Gymnasium of Guimarães is an environmentally-friendly building, built with innovative materials, state-of-the-art technology and a high degree of energy efficiency, consuming the energy produced by the property itself. Located near the City Park, near the Santos Simões School, the equipment will integrate the application process that Guimarães will present to the European Green Capital 2020.
Environmentally sound, with recoveries of heat and energy consumption compatible with the use, close to self-sustainability, the building benefits from free solar orientation and is related to the City Park and Penha slope, also interconnecting with the Ecovia de Guimarães. At the same time, all waters, rainwater and not only, will be reused and used after the treatment, which will be carried out in the building properly equipped for this purpose.
With a fundamentally formative function, the Academy constitutes one of the main and more strategic projects for the continuation of the promotion of the sports policy of Guimarães, keeping the county at the top international level, contemplating the practice of the disciplines of Rhythmic Gymnastics, Artistic Gymnastics and Acrobatic gymnastics.
