Geocache Description:

Celebrate Geocaching in the Lehigh Parkway with old friends and new!

When: Sunday, June 12, 2016, 11am-12pm, rain or shine. (Severe weather may cause this to be canceled).

Where: Lehigh Parkway South, Allentown, at Bogert’s Bridge (also known as The Red Covered Bridge).

Main entrance: 2500 Fish Hatchery Road, Allentown, PA
Alternate Entrances:  There are several parking areas in the parkway, at varying distances from Bogert’s Bridge.  If parking is full, please use one of these alternates:

  • Fish Hatchery
  • Indian Museum
  • Police Academy entrance

Who should attend and why: The event is open to everyone, regardless of your geocaching abilities. A gathering to talk about Geocaching, catch up with old friends, and meet some new ones!

After the event, you can even stay and learn the history Bogert’s Bridge, built in 1841, the only remaining covered bridge in Allentown. This architectural icon, located in Lehigh Parkway, crosses the Little Lehigh River joining portions of what was once the Bogert family farm. There will be a celebration of the 175th Anniversary of Bogart’s Bridge in the Parkway from noon-5pm…this is not affiliated with Geocaching, just a fun event in the same area.

Food: Unfortunately there are no pavilions or formal picnic areas in this park, but feel free to bring your own snacks! Please remember to clean up your own trash afterwards.
