2015 Genesee County Parks CITO Cache In Trash Out Event

This cache has been archived.

-allenite-: Greetings,

As this event has long since past (over a month), I am archiving it to prevent it from showing up on searches and the map by cachers in the area.

Thank you,

When
Saturday, May 16, 2015
From 9:00 am - 5:00 pm

By 5:00 pm plan on being back to meet up at GZ and drop off any trash you didn't find trash cans for and/or with waypoints of the various objectives you chose to fill.

Where
At any of the Genesee County Parks.
A full list of the parks can be found HERE

What To Bring
Gloves.
Plastic trash bags.  We will also have some trash bags available at the posted coordinates.

Agenda
Your task to claim an "Attended" log will be to complete at least one of the following objectives, which can be done any time from 8:00am through sunset (normal park hours) May 16th.

Objective #1 - Trail Side Trash Removal
This is very simple to do. As you are out caching the GCP, Have plastic shopping bags with you to collect trash that you find along your route. Bring back to posted coordinates for disposal. Any trash can you happen to pass will also work.

Objective #2 - Garlic Mustard Marking
While the arborist at the GCP isn't aware of any Garlic Mustard at this present time, please keep your eye open for Garlic Mustard plants. If you spot even a single plant, mark it's location with your GPS and give the coordinates to a volunteer at ground zero.  If you're unable to make it back to the coordinates by the posted times.  Feel free to send the coordinates in an email.

Objective #3 - Illegal Deer Blind Marking
While out on the trail in the GCP, if you spot any hunting blinds, there is a very good chance that they're not supposed to be there.  Mark it's location with your GPS and give the coordinates to a volunteer at ground zero.  If you're unable to make it back to the coordinates by the posted times.  Feel free to send the coordinates in an email.

Objective #4 - Trail Maintenance Marking
The GCP have not had a chance to check out every trail in all the parks. As you are out caching, if you come across any major obstructions such as a tree that has fallen over the trail that you can't clear, please mark a waypoint of it. Then give a volunteer that waypoint and a brief description of what it is (fallen tree, etc) and we'll pass it on to the GCP.  If you're unable to make it back to the coordinates by the posted times.  Feel free to send the coordinates in an email.
