I was amazed to find no caches in this beautiful city - only caves full of champagne and none the worse for that!
The great Cathedral of Notre Dame at Reims was the scene of the coronation of most of the kings of France and is an unforgettable piece of Gothic architecture. If possible see it in the afternoon of a sunny day to get the full beauty of the great west rose window. And do walk to the other end of the cathedral to see the Chagall decorated chapel and windows at the East end. And go for a ride on the little road train which runs from near the entrance (4 euros in June 2002).
Beside the cathedral is a Palais. It is named on the maps but what I ask to justify this as a virtual cache is the name given to the palais on the archway in the middle of the courtyard between cathedral and palais.
Bonus points, if they were available, would go to anyone who can answer why one might need to heed danger from above while near the archway! If the name is missing a photo of you or your GPS under the archway will be a good substitute. If you can answer send me an e-mail through my profile.
There is currently construction work at the Cathedral, so a picture of yourself, your caching name on a piece of paper or some identifying trackable/personal item is needed.
Please upload the picture to your log, don't send it via messenger. Any logs without a picture may be deleted. (listing updated 4th September 2023)
