Geocache Description:

(a) Count Casmir Pulaski, a Polish brigadier general credited with saving George Washington's life during the Revolutionary War.

(b) During the American Revolution General Casmir Pulaski organized a cavalry group which was called "Pulaski's Legion" or the Polish Legion. With 200 foot soliders and 68 horses, the Pulaski Legion would become the colonists' first true fully-trained calvary.

(c) Casmir Pulaski became known as the Father of American Calvary.

(d) During a joint operation with the French to recapture the city of Savannah, seeing the allied troops falter Pulaski galloped forward to rally the men, when he was mortally wounded by British cannon shot. He died two days later and was buried at sea.

That is why we in Illinois get the first Monday on March off: Pulaski Day

And Y'all in Georgia get the fine Fort!

Now get out there and geocache proudly!

This is a fee area. Open: 9am-5pm.

Where’s Signal? If you are looking for my Signal Geocoin that is listed as in this geocache, then look instead for a small piece of paper taped to the cache container. The paper has the coin code on it, and will allow you to “discover” this Signal Geocoin if you have been to my geocache. That way you can get you a Signal icon on your “Trackables Found” column on your personal geocaching page as a “bonus” for coming to my geocache.
