Geocache Description:

The cache is not at the posted coordinates.

This cache was placed in honor of RavRobin's 3000th find. Although nothing prohibits anyone else from being FTF on this cache, it sure would be nice of you to allow RavRobin to have the honor.

As some of you may know, RavRobin means "Rabbi Robin". RavRobin is in school to become an ordained Rabbi. So, I wanted to find something that would combine her interest in rabbinic studies, her newly-found interest in math and puzzles, and her love of geocaching. The result: a geocaching puzzle with Gematria at its heart.

Gematria is a form of Hebrew numerology where each letter of the Hebrew alphabet corresponds to a given number. There are many variations on this theme. In its simplest form, letters, words, phrases, and sentences can all be converted to numeric values, allowing interesting comparisons to be made. The most popular example of Gematria is the assignment of the number 18 to "Chai", the Hebrew word for "Life". The word "Chai" is composed of two letters, the values of which total 18.
