Came out today with friends for a day hike and some cache, two of my favourite things to do.
I really like this lake, it is a pretty lake and an easy hike.
From the parking location the main trail goes for 7km along the lake. The path is well maintained, and has virtually no vertical gain.
There area several walk-in campsites. Even though this trail is very popular and busy remember that this is bear country and so come bear prepared.
While looking for the cache you should notice all the Lichen in the area.
You are looking for a small container, in the rocks (head height), a tall person should be able to get the cache from the trail but most will need a one step up to get it. Please hide the cache as well as you found it.
Cheakamus Lake is a lake in Garibaldi Provincial Park on the southeastern outskirts of the resort municipality of Whistler, British Columbia.
There are two campsites next to the lake, both of which are along a flat trail from the parking lot and have pit toilets and places to hang your food.
Please be aware that dogs are NOT allowed at Cheakamus Lake or on any other trails in Garibaldi Provincial Park.
