Geocache Description:

Sandwiched between Labrador Park and Labrador Nature and Coastal Walk, this tiny park is a great hangout for the family, young and old. This geocache brings you a little off the beaten track, and you can even do a spot of fishing if you like!

This little piece of green is a haven for all and a place to celebrate the spirit of giving and community engagement. Comchest stands for Community Chest, and is the fund-raising arm of National Council of Social Services which raises funds to support charities so that they can care for and serve the less advantaged.

Comchest Green is an extension of Labrador Park and is easily accessible from the parking area. Situated close to the sea, the park extension is a therapeutic place for senior citizens and physically challenged individuals. Its idyllic surroundings, the soothing sound of the sea lapping the shore, the scent of the cool sea breeze and the many beautiful and colourful species of flowers deliver a calming effect, which can help to reduce depression, stress and anxiety. You can look out towards Sentosa Island, or watch the yachts and cruise ships passing through in front of you.

Just close by is the Labrador Nature & Coastal Walk, where you will pass through the Berlayer Creek mangrove trail and Bukit Chermin Boardwalk. Currently one of two remaining mangroves in the south of mainland Singapore, Berlayer Creek is home to a myriad of fauna and flora - some 60 bird species, 19 fish species and 14 true mangrove plant species have been recorded here. Take a walk along the coastal foothill of Bukit Chermin on the Bukit Chermin Boardwalk. It is an elevated boardwalk which connects the Berlayer Creek mangrove trail and Labrador Nature Reserve to the promenade at the Reflections at Keppel Bay.

The park is along my usual running route and is perfect for a stroll or a run at sunset. Located within walking distance of Labrador Park MRT Station, there are also plenty of parking space within a 2 minutes walk.

The cache has been changed to a nano box. BYOP.
