Geocache Description:

Every year, scouts from all over the world celebrate Founder’s Day on 22nd February to commemorate Lord Robert S.S. Baden-Powell, the Founder of Scouts Movement and the Chief Scout of the World. To commemorate his 157th birthday, this cache was placed on the 22nd of February 2014.

On 22nd February 1857, Robert Stephenson Smyth Baden-Powell (famously known as BP) was born in London, England. He learnt woodcraft from his brothers during his younger age and joined the military as a sub-lieutenant at the age of 19. He became the hero of Mafeking in 1900 for defending it against enemies for 217 days with very limited resources.

Upon returning to England, his book written for army men, Aids to Scouting, gained popularity among men and boys. He then gathered a group of boys for an experimental camp at Brownsea Island, Poole Harbour in summer of 1907 for him to try out some ideas in training boys in scouting practices. He then produced 6 series of books entitled “Scouting for Boys” in 1908. Many scout patrols and troops began to spring up in England and in numerous other countries before this book had hardly started to appear in bookshops. Thus, the Scouting movement was formed.

In Malaysia, scouting started as early as 1908 with a number of patrols being formed at various parts of the country to try out the ideas written in Scouting for Boys. In Kuala Lumpur, scouting started at the first GPS location in 1909.

The cache is not located at this first GPS location. By solving the following puzzle while standing at this location will bring you to stage 2 where another set of puzzle needs to be answered before you are pointed to the actual place where the magnetic cache is hidden.
