Geocache Description:

Welcome to the Northpoint neighborhood and Lake Park, voted Milwaukee’s best public park in 2012. Take a look around the park to discover views of Lake Michigan, southeastern Wisconsin's largest waterfall and the stunning architecture of the historic mansions along Lake Drive!

Meet the neighborhood!

To the EAST, you'll see parts of Lake Park including the golf course and Bartolotta’s Lake Park Bistro, one of Milwaukee’s most romantic restaurants. To the SOUTH, if you continue along Lake Dr. and Wahl Avenue, you'll find the 74-foot-tall North Point Lighthouse, stunning views of Bradford Beach and eventually, North Avenue’s vibrant dining and nightlife scene. If you make it there, don’t miss the Oriental Theater. Built in 1927, this restored landmark features an opulent interior filled with original gold Buddhas, porcelain lions and crystal chandeliers. To the WEST, you'll see some of the historic mansions of Milwaukee's East Side, many originally built and owner by Milwaukee's wealthiest residents. To the NORTH, you’ll discover the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee campus.
