Geocache Description:

Meet between 10:30-11am at the posted coordinates (the NW corner of the parking lot for McCormick Park in Duvall).  At 11, those who wish can go for a bike ride south on the Snoqualmie Valley Trail.

The 19th in a series of events along the many mostly flat, mostly paved biking/walking trails in the Seattle area.  This time we'll be taking the unpaved Snoqualmie Trail from near its northern end in Duvall toward Carnation.

Per geocaching.com event guidelines, the actual 'event' is the meet-up from 10:30-11am at the posted coordinates, which is next to the parking lot at McCormick Park in Duvall.

This event is outdoors, but I will only cancel this event if the weather is terrible: heavy rain, lightning/thunder, snow or ice. Bring a waterproof layer if it might rain, and enough layers/gloves/etc to ward off any cold.

Information for the ride:

The Snoqualmie Valley Trail starts in downtown Duvall and heads up the Snoqualmie River Valley to near Rattlesnake Lake.  Near its end is the western end of the Iron Horse Trail, which follows an old railroad line all the way to the Idaho border.  We will be riding a much more tame and flat section of the trail, from Duvall to a wetland/wildlife area just north of Carnation. Route map here: http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=6964643

Note if you plan on exploring the wetland/wildlife area that hunting is allowed in the area, so you should wear bright colors.  The bike trail should be perfectly safe.

There are no places to buy food and drink along the way, so you should bring water and any food you might need.  There are places to buy food and drink near the start in Duvall.

Please show up well before 11am so we can leave on time.  Check your brakes and air beforehand if you will be biking.

Participants in the optional bicycle ride hold harmless the cache owner/event organizer and assume all risks and responsibilties involved in riding a bicycle on trails and streets. Wear a helmet, dress in layers, and bring a spare tube.

If you have any suggestions/requests for trails to visit on future events, feel free to mention them in your log.
