Geocache Description:

Travel to North Park and the Latadomi Nature Center. This is off of Brown Road in the western portion of the park. Park your car next to the nature barn and choose the "North" (bluebird symbol) trail as your means to get close to the cache. You will not be on the trail when you locate the cache. A pleasant area within which to hike, Latadomi offers wetlands, fields, and woods as well as hilly and some flat terrain. You will see many bluebird boxes along the trail.

Up on a hill
there is a mill
There are no arms
but don't let that
be an alarm
Phil would see it,
and really get a thrill

North Park was dedicated on June 18, 1927. Many of the infrastructure and improvements made to the park were the results of the efforts by men working for the Works Progress Administration (WPA) during the depression. There are several geocaches in the park that tell the history of North Park.
Abe and Nancys’ Place (GCHXA5) Game reserve 1927-1931. The fence post remains adjacent to the cemetery are from the game preserve fencing used for buffalo whose caretakers were Blackfoot Indians from Montana. The game reserve encompassed the area between Walter Road, Pearce Mill Road, and Lakeshore Drive.
