This cache is hidden at Haverstraw Beach, just off the bike path which leads from Haverstraw to Nyack. Haverstraw Beach was once a popular swimming area. You can see remains of bath houses and picnic areas. As pollution spread through the Hudson River the beach was closed and the buildings and picnic areas fell into disrepair. Today the old road linking Haverstraw and Nyack beaches is a bike path. It’s an easy walk along the river with many wonderful views. There is no need to bushwhack. There is a well traveled but unmarked trail to the beach. Parking for the trail can be found in Haverstraw, at Rockland Lake and in Nyack. Parking in Nyack may involve a seasonal fee. The cache is a small lock and lock and is only accessible during daylight hours.
