Ammo can off a trail at Merchants Millpond State Park.
Note from owner -- The contents of the ammo case got wet and have not dried in a while. We now live many states away so the "owners" cannot fix this. If you are coming to find this cache, please consider bringing a new log and something to wipe out the inside. Thanks, The GeoBiscuits ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The address for parking is 176 Millpond Road, Gatesville, NC 27938-9440; N 36° 26.211, W 076° 41.964. Follow all NC State Park Rules. Only attempt to find this cache during park hours: November –February 8AM-6PM March-May, September, October 8AM-8PM June-Agust 8AM-9PM (closed December 25th each year). The trail head is near canoe launch behind the Visitor Center. The trail and has no handicap access. The terrain is a well traveled, cleared path up and down small hills; there are a few steps near canoe launch. The trail is well marked. This ammo can cache is big enough for large items, books, etc. The Merchant Millpond park rangers request that we post the following message, "cache searchers leave a note on their vehicle's dashboard identifying the operator as being a geocacher." After finding this cache, launch your canoe and paddle over to find Coleman’s Look geocache (GC2KX1F) on Coleman Trail. Congratulations to smiley79 for FTF.
