Geocache Description:

GEO JAMBOREE IS BACK

This quiet little event has brought together all those who attended Geo Jamborees in the past and many new folks for a weekend of camping, paddling, geocaching and campfire comadery

ONCE AGAIN A GREAT TIME WAS HAD BY ALL
And the rangers here were most accomodating and good natured.

The weather wasperfect all weekend, the food contributions were "over the top" and as usual, comraderary was at its best.
JUNE 15-17, 2012
At Housatonic Meadows State Park

NO EVENT FEES - NO PARKING OR ENTRANCE FEES !
Canoes or kayaks were available fromClark Outdoors just up the road with transportation to drop-off location. Pull-out is right in the park.

The camp was almost empty which meant lots of room between campers, and peace and quiet at night (except for a couple of raccoons that decided to duke it out over who gets into someone's cooler first).

I want to thank particularly Son of a Beach for brining his ever popular grill and Maddog1973 for his freshly boiled corn on the cob. However we must not forget the dump cake, the salads, the desserts and all the other items that were contributed. This kind of an event does not happen by my work alone. Without your participation and help it could not be.
I also want to thank so many of you who have written your posts and sent in your pics along with those who have already offered help for next year. By the way, we will try to do this one week later next year to avoid some comflicts that some folks had this year.
All I can say now is that I hope to see all of you at the Beach Bash this Fall.
Also check the CT forum, for discussion about the event.

As many caches here are on State Property, please be advised that all caches set in State Parks, Forests or DEP Lnads must now have a permit. Please make sure your caches, old or new, have such a permit. There is no cost for this.
