Wheels Down Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

Wis Kid: As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Geocache Description:

The Boulder Junction Airport was established on Boulder Lake in 1944. This unique airport is not only a landing strip, but also a landing site for seaplanes. It is a very popular place during our Musky Jamboree, when private planes fly-in for a gathering. This is also site of Boulder Junction’s annual 4th of July fireworks.

Cache is an ammo box with a logbook and fun items for trading.

The Town of Boulder Junction has given permission to place cache in this area.

The Geocache Notification Form has been submitted to Sonja Margitan at the Trout Lake Headquarters of the Wisconsin DNR.

Geocaches placed on Wisconsin Department of Natural Resource managed lands require permission by means of a notification form. Please print out a paper copy of the notification form, fill in all required information, then submit it to the land manager. The DNR Notification form and land manager information can be obtained at: (visit link)
