Από όλες τις Ευρωπαϊκές χώρες έρχονται ξένοι και βέβαια Έλληνες που περνάνε τέλεια τις διακοπές εδώ. Στην Παραλία του Αλμυρού κάνουν ηλιοθεραπεία, κάνουν βουτιές στην ήρεμη θάλασσα ή κολυμπούν γύρω γύρω στο μικρό μικρό νησάκι "Η Εξέδρα του Αλμυρού" μπροστά στην παραλία.
Σε αυτή την περιοχή θα βρείτε αυτή την κρύπτη σε ένα μέρος που είναι μάρτυρας από μια φοβερή εποχή στις 1943. Δεν βρήκα κανέναν που να μπορεί να μου εξηγήσει την ιστορία αυτού του μέρους. Όμως, έπρεπε να είναι το καταφύγιο Ελλήνων στην εποχή της κατοχής. Μάλλον μόνο ντόπιοι πρόλαβαν να βρουν αυτά τα τρία δωμάτια στο υπόγειο μακριά από κάποια άλλα κτήρια. Τα πρώτα σπίτια του Άγιου Νικόλαου ήταν τουλάχιστον ένα χιλιόμετρο από 'δω στον 1943.
Σήμερα είναι πάλι το μέρος μιας κρύπτης, αλλά ευτυχώς μόνο για ένα κουτάκι του geocaching. Στην είσοδο θα βρείτε την πέτρινη πινακίδα με την επιγραφή "1943". Ανάψτε εδώ το φακό σας και θα βρείτε το κουτάκι μετά 10,20 μ. σε σχεδόν 2 μ. ύψος.
(Δεν υπάρχει η δυνατότητα να έρχεστε αμέσως από την Εθνική Οδό, πρέπει να περάσετε πρώτα από την παραλία στο σημείο διαδρομής "Trailhead"!)

Holiday guests from all European countries and some Greek vacationists are enjoying the sun right here at the Beach of Almyros, diving and swimming in the shallow water or rounding the tiny little island „Platform of Almyros“ in front of the beach.
Not far from the beach at the place, where you will find this cache. In 1943, times were not approximately as peaceful as you will find it now. I did not find somebody who could tell me the story of this place, but I assume, it must have been the the place of refuge for Greeks in the time of occupation. Without local knowledge nobody will have found these little rooms. And keep in mind, in 1943 the next building must have been more than one kilometer from this place.
Today it is again a hiding place, lucky, that it is just for this cache-container. Bring your torch and you will find it in a distance of 10.20m from the plate with the inscription "1943" in a height of nearly two meters.
(You will not reach the cache area from the main road. You should pass over the beach to the waypoint "Trailhead"!)

Feriengäste aus allen europäischen Ländern und auch ein paar griechische Urlauber räkeln sich im Sommer am Strand von Almyros in der Sonne, planschen im seichten Wasser oder schwimmen eine Runde um das winzige Inselchen „Plattform von Almyros“.
Ganz in der Nähe, dort wo dieser Cache zu finden ist, sah es 1943 nicht so friedlich aus. Ich habe zwar niemanden finden können, der mir definitiv die Geschichte dieses Ortes erklären konnte. Es wird wohl ein Zufluchtsort, ein Versteck für Griechen in der Zeit der Besatzung gewesen sein. Die drei Räume wird ein Ortsunkundiger jedenfalls kaum gefunden haben. Und es ist zu bedenken, dass 1943 im Umkreis von einem Kilometer rund um diese Stelle vermutlich kein einziges Gebäude zu finden war.
Heute ist hier wieder ein Versteck, glücklicherweise nur für diese Geocaching-Dose. Schaltet Eure Taschenlampe ein, dann findet Ihr sie 10,20 m von der Steinplatte mit der Gravur „1943“ entfernt in knapp zwei Meter Höhe.
(Der Cache ist nicht von der Landstrasse aus errreichbar. Geht am Strand entlang zum Ausgangspunkt "Trailhead"!)
