Geocache Description:

The breaking of the bread...

This is a magnetic nano cache, containing a very small log book but no pen or pencil so please bring your own.

It is sited on a public pavement close to the beautiful parish church of Sannat but well away from the prying eyes of muggles.

The parish was established by Davide Cocco-Palmeri on 28 April 1688. The building of the present parish church dedicated to St Margaret Martyr was begun on the site of a smaller church in 1718, but it underwent several structural changes in the 1860s. The present church was initiated on the site of a smaller one in 1718 and was consecrated on 16 October 1755. However, after the significant structural changes, it was consecrated again on 22 November 1868. It was raised to the Archipresbyteral status on 27 December 1893. The church has a very good altarpiece by Stefano Erardi, a famed local painter.

The cache is a magnetic nano cache sited away from the main church building on public land. It is close to four old statues that have been preserved but the cache requires no interference with these fantastic antiquities.

Please bring a pen to log your find as the cache is only sufficient to hold the log.

The cache is maintained locally, although the owner is UK based.

Small note on cache maintenance:
There is a local cache guardian who will assist.
