Pa dobro svetlobo ... je neformalni pozdrav fotografov. In 19. avgust je dejansko svetovni dan fotografije. In kje bi bilo ta dan lepše doživeti, kot prav v Kranju, rojstnem kraju enega od svetovnih začetnikov fotografije - Janeza Puharja.
Fotografija je od zgodnjega 19. stoletja postajala vse bolj pomemben medij osebnega izražanja in spoštovanja neštetih ljudi po vsem svetu. Fotografija lahko zajame posamezen kraj; izkušnje; ideje; ujame trenutek v času. Zaradi tega pravimo, da je fotografija vredna več kot tisoč besed. Fotografije lahko prenesejo občutek hitreje, včasih pa tudi učinkoviteje kot besede. Fotografija omogoči gledalcu, da svet vidi tako, kot ga je videl fotograf. Fotografije celo presegajo čas - fotografija izpred sto let je še vedno lahko tako cenjena, kot je bila takrat. Fotografija, ki jo bomo naredili jutri, lahko cenijo ljudje tudi čez sto let.
Kaj bo naša naloga tokrat, kaj smisel druženja, kakšen izziv? Dobili se bomo 19. avgusta ob 16. uri pred Layerjevo hišo v Kranju in se nemudoma prestavili v prostore Layerjeve kavarne. Uradno bo dogodek trajal, kot seveda mora, do 18. ure. Časa bo več kot dovolj za klepet, menjavo sledljivčkov, predvsem pa na današnji dogodek ne smete pozabiti s seboj vzeti fotoaparata. Bodisi velikega, s še večjim objektivom. Ali pa zgolj tistega, ki se skriva v vašem mobilnem telefonu. Kdor bo želel, si bo v tem času lahko ogledal spominsko sobo Janeza Puharja v hiši, ki leži zgolj na drugi strani ceste. Ali pa se celo podal v iskanje Puharjevega skrivnega laboratorija, se napotil po mestu na lov za izgubljeno fotografijo ali se oblečen v oblačila iz časov, ko se je fotografija rojevala, prepustil ostremu očesu fotografa in domov odšel z unikatno fotografijo na steklu.
Ko bo dogodek končan, se bomo odpravili na krajši potep po Kranju, obiskali bomo mesto, kjer je stala rojstna hiša Janeza Puharja in odšli tja, kjer je bil po svoji smrti pokopan. Med hojo boste imeli možnost, da pogledate na hiše, ulice, ljudi skozi objektiv. In naredite fotografijo, dve, sto, kolikor boste želeli. Vaša naloga pa bo sledeča. Na dan dogodka, do polnoči, boste na naslov info@geocacher.si poslali fotografijo, za katero boste prepričani, da vam je najbolje uspela. Geolovci pa bodo izmed vseh prispelih izbrali najboljše. Te bodo seveda ... kot se za takšen fotografski natečaj spodobi ... nagrajene. Dogodek se bo zaključil proti večeru, v slaščičarni Carniola, kjer imajo dober sladoled, tortice in še kaj ...
In še za konec. Ker se bo treba za ogled Puharjeve spominske sobe ali sodelovanje na posameznih dogodivščinah, ki se jih je v tej hiši možno udeležiti, treba dogovoriti, da bodo v času dogodka na voljo, ravno tako pa tudi doreči sprejemljivo ceno, prosim, da v svoj log navdušenci nad fotografijo napišete, kdo bi si kaj ogledal oziroma se česa udeležil. "Good light" is an informal greeting among fellow photographers. Actually, August 19 is World Photography Day. Where would it be nicer to experience it at Kranj, the birthplace of one of the world's photography pioneers, Mr Janez Puhar?
Since the early 19th century, photography has become an ever-increasing medium of personal expression and appreciation for countless people around the world. A photograph has the ability to capture a place; an experience; an idea; a moment in time. For this reason, it's said that a picture is worth a thousand words. Photographs can convey a feeling faster than, and sometimes even more effectively than words can. A photograph can make the viewer see the world the way the photographer sees it. Photographs even transcend the passing of time - a photo from a hundred years ago can still be as appreciated now, as it was then. A photo taken tomorrow, can still be just as appreciated by others in a hundred years' time.
What is the task to solve, what is the sense of this event, what is the challenge? We will meet on the 19th of August of 2020 at 4 pm in front of Layer House at Kranj and go straight into Layer Café. Officially, the event will last the required time, till 6 pm. That should give us enough time to socialize and to exchange trackables - but most importantly, don't forget to bring your camera, the bigger the better, or simply the one in your cell phone. You will be able to visit Janez Puhar Memorial Room in the house just across the street. You might even wish to find the secret Puhar's lab, stroll downtown in search of a lost photo, or get dressed into clothes from the time of photography beginnings and let an expert take a photo of you - and you'll get a unique glass photograph to take home with you.
When the event is over, we will go for a short walk to visit the spot where the birth house of Janez Puhar was standing, and to see where he is buried. You'll be able to look at Kranj buildings, streets and people through your camera lenses. Having done that, you are invited to send your best photo to info@geocacher.si until midnight on the day of this event. Fellow geocachers will select the best ones. As should be the case in any decent photo contest, the best photos will be awarded. The event will finish off towards the evening at Carniola Café and Patisserie, which is famous for excellent ice creams, cakes and more.
