On the plus side, I've ordered a new ammo box the same as this one (but not broken!) and a disposable camera with black and white film (ISO 400 so that it'll work under cover of trees) and I'll create a new cache somewhere in the general area soon and operate it the same way.
To commemorate this cache, I've created a slideshow of all of the photos that were taken by the visitors on the cameras in the cache.
