Geocache Description:

Easy micro with wonderful view of the city of Charleston, WV.

Capitol Hill recieved it's name because the State Capitol originally was located downtown Charleston, near the foot of this hill, at the corner of Capitol and Lee Street. The "Savage House" just to the East of this cache was constructed by a prominent citizen of Charleston. Mr. Savage was the owner of Charleston Lumber Company and Savage Quarry. These busninesses provided building materials to the booming constuction industry in the Kanawha Valley early 20th Century. Take in the view of Charleston that Mr. Savage and his family formerly enjoyed in the early 1900s.
