Geocache Description:

We at the Society for the Advancement of Squatch Studies (S.A.S.S.) would like to take this opportunity to educate geocachers about our mission and to enlist their help in furthering the study of the elusive, fascinating cryptozoological specimens that we affectionately refer to as "squatches". As geocachers you are uniquely suited to aid in our studies due to the fact that you often practice your hobby in prime squatchin' wilderness areas, and the search for your "treasures" also leads to the development of a keen eye for detail. Some of your peers have already aided greatly with investigations into the squatch known as Loup Garou near Taylor, MS.

The S.A.S.S is a not for profit organization who's goal is to conduct expeditions into squatch (a.k.a. sasquatch, bigfoot, swamp ape, loup garou, yeti, the beast of Boggy Creek, etc. ) sightings and reports. We are a no kill group interested primarily in research and preservation. We investigate reports, conduct research into areas of reported activity, and collect field data in the form of audio, video, photography, as well as occasional physical evidence. Our group is making all efforts to foster relationships with the scientific community including biochemical and genetic study of physical evidence.

We have developed this mystery cache as a training tool to help you to develop your squatchin' skills. The "geocache treasure" is not at the listed coordinates, but the proper coordinates can be found by completing the following exercises. Examine each picture below closely and try to identify the squatch. Click on the squatch with your mouse to identify a coordinate clue. You can click on other things in the photos as well for fun and/or educational material. Remember that there are those out there who will try to provide false evidence of the squatch. DON"T BE FOOLED BY JOKERS IN GORILLA SUITS!

We at the S.A.S.S. believe that the children are our future, and we understand that something called "First to Find" is a big honor among geocachers. Therefore we will award two "First to Finds" for this treasure. A FTF will be presented to the first person under 13 years of age, and the first person 13 years of age or older to write their name in the cache book. We would greatly appreciate if the adult geocachers would help us keep good prizes in the treasure chest (standard-sized ammo can) so that the young people will continue to be excited by our hobbies.
