Die Felsburg im Massenkalk des Malm Gamma, die auch als Eulenstein oder Eulenwand bekannt ist, befindet sich östlich von Tiefenellern und erhebt sich idyllisch über das Ellertal. Bei Kletterern ist sie überregional bekannt und bietet eine grandiose Aussicht bei entsprechender Wetterlage.
Malm Gammaunterteilt sich in drei Großkomplexe
- Malm Gamma 1: Unterer Teil des Unterkimmeridgium
- Malm Gamma 2: Mittlerer Teil des Unterkimmeridgium
- Malm Gamma 3: Oberer Teil des Unterkimmeridgium
Entsprechend ist die Bildung der Gesteine unterschiedlich.
Besonders der untere Teil des Malm Gamma ist sehr fossilreich. Der Malm Gamma 2 und 3 in der Fränkischen Alb hingegen ist eher fossilarm.
In der Erdgeschichte des Oberjura im Jura ist die mittlere chronostatigraphische Stufe das Kimmeridgium. Vor ca. 155,6 Millionen Jahren begann diese geochronolische Stufe und endete vor ca. 150,8 Millionen Jahren. Diese Stufe liegt zwischen dem Oxfordium und dem Tithonium. Der Jura selbst unterteilt sich in Unterjura, Mitteljura und Oberjura. Die entsprechenden Zeitabschnitte können unten stehender Tabelle entnommen werden, welche nach Jahren von jünger nach älter gegliedert ist.
Der Oberjura, Weißer Jura oder Malm der Fränkischen Alb ist als geschichtete Abfolge von Kalkbänken und zwischengeschalteten Mergelfugen oder mächtigen Mergellagen ausgebildet. Andererseits besteht auch aus undeutlich geschichteten bis unruhig strukturierten, oft struktulosen massigen Kalkgesteinen, die Kalziumkarbonat und/oder Dolomit besteht. Diese Massenkalke bildeten Felsen und prägen in imposanter weise das Landschaftsbild.

1. Wie viele begehbare Felsspalten gibt es im Eulenstein? Nennt die Anzahl entlang des Weges am Fuße des Felsens, ihr müsst diesen nicht umrunden.
2. Wie hoch ist der Felsen in etwa, an dem ihr das Logfoto macht?

Ich habe zwei Parkmöglichkeiten ins Listing mit aufgenommen. Allerdings ist die Parkmöglichkeit P2 nur sehr begrenzt nutzbar. Zum einen ist die Zufahrt sehr klein und unscheinbar, zum anderen können dort maximal 3 Autos parken. Empfehlenswerter ist die Parkmöglichkeit P1, welche allerdings mit einem etwas längeren Fußmarsch verbunden ist.

We have taken up two park possibilities in the Listing with. Indeed, the park possibility P2 is only very much limits usable., On the one hand, the entrance is very small and insignificant, on the other hand maximum 3 cars can park there. The park possibility P1 which is connected, however, with a little longer walk is more recommendable.
