Fewston reservoir was completed in 1879.
Fewston Mill was demolished, as was West House Mill at Blubberhouses, with the stone going to build a wall around the reservoir.
The Washburn Heritage Centre is nearby and worth a visit. You can reach the heritage centre from swintsty reservoir(you don't have to walk along the road)
The centre and tea room is open:
Sundays and bank holidays during the winter 11am – 4pm
Weekends and bank holidays during the summer 11am – 4.30pm
THE CACHE IS A NANO BYOP.
If you have children please be aware that the water can be quite close to the cache when the reservoir is full.
Please don't be afraid to use both sides of the log!
