Geocache Description:

A longer hike, 10 km return, but well worth it. One of the most beautiful hikes you will ever go on.

This is one of a series of internationally placed caches to honour renowned mountaineer Conrad Kain.

About this Cache Area...

Rising two and a half kilometres from its base at Kinney Lake, Mount Robson (3954 m) is the most prominent mountain in North America’s Rocky Mountain range. It is also the highest point in the Canadian Rockies.

The mountain was first climbed during The Alpine Club of Canada’s expedition in 1913. Mountain guide Conrad Kain led his clients, A.H. MacCarthy and W.W. Foster to the top after chopping hundreds of steps up the north east face (which has become known as the Kain Face), and descending by the south face route. Kain led several other ascents of Mt Robson, notably the first undertaken by female climbers, Phyllis Munday and Annette Buck in 1924, by the south face route.

Mount Robson Provincial Park, the second oldest park in British Columbia's park system, is truly one of the world's crown jewels. The mountain for which the park is named guards the park's western entrance. Winter or summer, this is one of the finest views in the Rocky Mountains.
