After Ned's remains were exhumed from an unmarked common grave at Pentridge in Coburg, Ned has been returned to his relatives and is buried near many of them in this very cemetery thus bringing to an end the extraordinary saga of his life and death and granting Ned's final wish, which was to be buried in consecrated ground. Ned's green sash which he was awarded for saving a young boy from drowning and which he was wearing upon his capture at Glenrowan in 1880 is buried along with him. His remains have been encased in concrete to thwart anyone thinking of digging him up and souveniring anything from his grave.
It is said that other security measures have and will be put in place which to my mind will be somewhat unnecessary, at least in regard to cachers, who I know will respect the location especially since the cache is not in the immediate vicinity.
The cache can be found by taking information from the stone laid at the entrance to the cemetery.
It is located not far away at:

E146 16.DEF
