Esta fuente fue fundada en honor a la Princesa Dácil. Dácil es el nombre de una aborigen guanche de la isla de Tenerife, hija del rey o mencey Bencomo durante la conquista europea de las islas Canarias en el siglo xv.
Su leyenda cuenta que un día en que iba paseando por el verde Valle de Arautava con otras jóvenes, vio un charco de aguas cristalinas y le apeteció bañarse. Les pidió a sus acompañantes que se retirasen y, cuando aún no se había quitado su tamarco de pieles, oyó unos ruidos y corrió a esconderse entre los matorrales. Desde allí pudo ver como aparecía un gigante de dos cabezas desprendiendo destellos y caminando a saltos sobre cuatro pies. Cuando estaba cerca del agua, el gigante se dividió en dos, uno de los seres tenía cabeza humana y vestía los ropajes brillantes de los extranjeros; el otro ser, quedaba atado a un árbol. Dácil nunca había visto un caballo por lo que estaba aterrorizada y se subió a un árbol que caía sobre el charco. Se trataba del capitán del Castillo en misión de reconocimiento en el Valle de Taoro quien, mientras tomaba agua notó que había un rostro reflejado en el agua que no era el suyo. Girándose de repente , agarró uno de los pies de Dácil que cayó a tierra, ambos se miraron y, en ese momento, nació su amor.
Más tarde, el capitán Castillo fue hecho prisionero por las huestes de Bencomo quien encomendó a su hija la tarea de cuidarlo de las heridas sufridas en la batalla. Pero Duriman, rechazado por Dácil, la acusó de verse a solas con el castellano por lo que debía ser castigada. Este pidió que se reuniera el Consejo en demanda de justicia.
-Habla lo que quieras- le dijo el rey a Duriman.
-Yo pregunto, ¿qué pena tiene por la ley la mujer que habla a solas con un hombre?
-Emparedamiento- contestó el soberano.
-Pues se lo merece tu hija por haber hablado a solas con un hombre, que es además enemigo.
Y Bencomo, que jamás torció la ley, encerró a su hija durante meses hasta que fue convencido por unos testigos de que siempre había alguien con ellos. El mencey de Taoro liberó a su hija que, tiempo después se casó con el capitán Gonzalo del Castillo en Los Realejos.
Sobre el caché - El container se encuentra en una zona concurrida por muggles en coche, por lo que se pide discreción y se ruega dejarlo bien escondido por la posibilidad de robo o pérdida.

This fountain was founded in honor of Princess Dácil. Dácil or Dacila is the name of a Guanche aborigine from the island of Tenerife, daughter of the king Bencomo during the European conquest of the Canary Islands in the 15th century.
Legend says that one day when she was walking through the green Arautava Valley with other young women, she reached a pool of crystalline waters and she wanted to bathe. She asked her companions to leave her and, when she still had not removed her tamarco (piece of clothing formerly used by the Canarian aborigines), she heard some noises and ran to hide in the bushes. From there she could see how a two-headed giant appeared, giving off sparkles and jumping on four feet. When it was close to the water, the giant split in two, one of the beings had a human head and wore the shining robes of foreigners; the other being was tied to a tree. She had never seen a horse so she was terrified and she climbed a tree. It was the captain of the Castle on a reconnaissance mission in the Taoro Valley who, while drinking water, noticed that there was a face reflected in the water that was not his. Turning suddenly, he grabbed one of Dácil's feet that fell to the ground, they both looked at each other and, in that moment, her love was born.
Later on, Captain Castillo was taken prisoner by the hosts of Bencomo who entrusted his daughter with the task of taking care of him after the battle. But Duriman, rejected by Dácil, accused her of having some kind of relationship with the Castilian for which she should be punished. He asked that the Council meet to demand justice.
"Speak what you want," said the king to Duriman.
- I ask, what penalty has by the law the woman who is seen alone with a man?
"Immurement" replied the sovereign.
-Well, your daughter deserves it for having a relationship with that men, who is an enemy.
And Bencomo, who never bent the law, locked up his daughter for months until he was convinced by witnesses that there was always someone with them. The mencey of Taoro freed his daughter who later married Captain Gonzalo del Castillo in Los Realejos.
