Geocache Description:

This is an easy and quick roadside cache. It can be very busy with muggles sometime, and sometime you will be the only one on this site. Take some time and listern to the running waters, and if you are lucky, you will find it operating.

NO place for trade & bring own pen to log your visit. Please close the container properly again.

In the late 19th century South Africa had more than 2000 mills, some of which dated back to the time of the first European settlers. Today only a few hundred of these mills survive, and of these, only a handful have been described or recorded in any detail.

An exception is the 1850 Alberts Mill in the historic Karoo town of Prince Albert, where Friends of the Alberts Mill have worked towards its preservation for the last ten years. The mill with its millhouse and restored, working waterwheel stands at the southern entrance to the town close to the foothills of the Swartberg range
