Geocache Description:

Name That Tune!

Cache is not at listed coordinates!

This is a play anywhere cartridge and, as such, can be played... well, anywhere; even at home from your favorite chair. The location of the actual geocache is the Kingston, TN area.

I had been plotting several wherigos based on simple games and Name That Tune was one of them. Then I stumbled upon IbePaul's series in Alabama using this idea to create geoart and decided to bring that concept to our area.

As the cartridges start, you will be given the specific rules but your task is simple; all you need to do is "Name That Tune". You will be presented with 5 song clips and you must successfully identify 3 of the 5 songs to be rewarded with the final coordinates of the geocache, a hint for the container's placement and a gold ego-star... if you are into such. Get all the geocaches in the series and you will be rewarded with some geoart for your map!

Throughout this series, there is a good sampling of well-known songs from the 60s through 2016. I was born in 1961 and the song selections for these puzzles mostly came from my personal playlist, so they are heavily populated with songs from the 70s and 80s. Most are rock or adult contemporary, though a few from other genres have found themselves in the mix. As such, your age and preferred music genres could make these puzzles more or less difficult than the posted rating.

Use of a wherigo compatible device is not required. The game may also be played using the emulator tool in the Wherigo Builder program. 64 bit machines may require two patches for the emulator to work properly:
Patch 1
Patch 2

Because these are audio wherigos, Garmin devices will not work correctly. The cartridges have been tested on iOS and Android platforms and the most popular apps associated with each. With either platform, when you download the cartridge, select "Pocket PC Device" as the cartridge type.

I openly admit that the coordinates you will be given on completion of the cartridges are fairly loose. But the final locations are all pretty obvious and the hints you will be given should make them quick and easy. The posted difficulty levels are based on the puzzles more so than the hides but, in certain instances, you may have to explore GZ a bit for the less obvious. You will be looking for a micro container.

Lastly, I do not solicit favorite points and few, if any, of the actual hides are worthy of such. However, if you enjoy this series/geoart and are so inclined to award a blue ribbon for the series as a whole, I ask that you bestow it on Name That Tune! 01 (GC72EMD) so as to draw attention to the entire series/geoart for visitors to the area.

Enjoy, happy listening and happy hunting!
