Geocache Description:

The cache is a blackened plastic 32 oz peanut butter jar.
The cache coordinates were checked six times using a Garmin etrex Legend HCx.

Named for the movie: “The Postman"

At first we had thought Bethlehem’s camp was filmed in the Smith Rock area where he initially outlined the laws of eight thus the name of this cache. With further research we discovered it was only the lion/escape scene…but we kept the name anyway.

The year is 2013.
There is no order.
There is no peace.

There are no roads, no telephones. A war has destroyed the country, leaving its survivors struggling to make their lives in isolated towns lacking any means of communication. An army of marauding warriors called the Holnists, led by the despotic General Bethlehem, is determined to keep the people apart and their spirits empty so that the Holnists can continue their reign of terror. A vagabond who travels through villages performing Shakespeare is captured by the Holnists, and thrown into a totalitarian labor camp run by a Hitler-like dictator, General Bethlehem who has laid down the laws:

Law one:You will obey orders without question. Law two: Punishment shall be swift.Law three: Mercy is for the weak. Four: Terror will defeat reason. Five: Your allegiance is to the clan. Six: Justice can be dictated. Seven: Any clansman can challenge for leadership of the clan! Law Eight: There is only one penalty: Death.

After the initial training the army breaks camp and encounters a canyon with a river below. A rotten wood and rope bridge spans the space between the ridges A lion was hunted by three Holnists and with one man now missing in a thicket a volunteer needs to go in and get the man out. “Shakespeare” aka The Postman, is volunteered.

“Come out alive and you got yourself a lion steak."
