All of a sudden, I have a series of caches in Pence Park.
First there was Sheppy McShepardSons (take II), a somewhat remote cache requiring a 1.3 hike or bike ride from the parking lot of Pence Park.
Then, I placed McShepardSons on Independence Mountain, which is less distance, but is a very steep hike up Independence Mountain Trail.
In an attempt to attract more cachers to the top of Independence Mountain, I hid two micro-caches along the trail McShepardSons Waypoint 1 and McShepardSons Waypoint 2. I figured if a geo-cacher could pick up finds along the way, the hike would be more worth it for them.
One day, on my way back down from checking on my other caches on Independence Mountain Trail, I came to a trail junction. I could go left or right, but going straight brought me into some really nice hiding rocks. As luck would have it, I had one of my micro-caches in my pack. I had not been planning to place it in this area, but I liked the spot, so I took it.
This cache has gone missing and replaced with a bigger size than the original. The container you are looking for is a bit bigger than your typical "small", but I don't think it is big enough to be called "regular". There is room for toys and trackables etc ... .
Hopefully this stays where we put it and is not muggled again. Please log any DNF's so I can be on top of it.
With all the rocks in the area, it might be difficult to spot the correct hole. But, it wouldn't be much fun if it were too easy ... right?
I hope you enjoy this whole series of caches.
Congrats to frank80401, for FTF!
While on this trail, make sure you pick up the other potential finds:
