Bug Hotel and item exchange
The Amish inn is a travel bug hotel nestled in northern Lancaster County and is to be found near the interchange of the PA turnpike (the Reading exit, # 286) and US Route 222. The Route 222 provides an excellent north-south route and the turnpike provides an excellent east-west route to aid any travel bug to get on with their travels. MD, NJ, DE, and WV are reachable in less than 2 hours drive from this point with NY, VA, and OH reachable with just a little longer trip.
The Inn’s accommodations are first rate, and any travel bug would be glad to take a rest here from their travels. This is a travel bug hotel, if you wish to check a TB out from the Inn, you should check a new one in, this is subject to common sense and room availability. Other exchange items are also available.
While travel bugs are not trade items I would ask that the hotel never be cleared out of all hitch hikers since I'd like the hotel to also be used to introduce people, new or just learning about the game, to get to see and touch a hitch hiker.
For the traveling Geocacher, there is a convenience/gas station about a .15 mile west of the inn that generally sells gas a little cheaper than Turnpike rates and has drinks and rest rooms available.
A dinner (use to be Zinn’s dinner) can be found near by if you turn north (right) at the light at Denver Rd (the road exited onto) and N. Reading Rd. (SR 272) for those who would like to try some of the indigenous foods of Lancaster County.
Local Geocaching points of interest are available in the inn for those who have a little time and may want to capture a cache or two.
