The land for this cemetery was once part of the original Rufledt homestead. The first Rufledt family came from Germany in 1880. If you know a Rufledt, likely they are related to the ancestors buried here. Herman and Auguste Rufledt are among the oldest gravestones and the original family that immigrated. You can find their graves near the back of the cemetery, just to the right off the main driveway.
My family is still on the original farm down the road and are willing to be the muggle maintenance team for the cache if I'm not nearby for an emergency cache check-up between visits.
As with any cemetery cache, if there are family members paying respects, return another time to make your search. The container is not on any grave stone.
There are a lot of caches just a bit north of here in the Chippewa Moraine, trying to fill in an area on the way there that was pretty thin on smiley potential.
Wallace Rufledt has received approval on my behalf from the Rufledt Cemetery Association to place this cache. Another group of people have now heard of geocaching!
