African elephants have long been considered ‘untrainable’. They are much more powerful and aggressive than their eastern cousins, the Asian elephants, which have been domesticated for centuries.
Nearby is one of several elephant sanctuaries found in Africa, where you can get to feel, interact with and indeed, ride on an African elephant. If you happen to be at this crossing at the right time of day, the road is closed off and you will see the elephants and their trainers crossing over and going for a walk.
