Hike from Kokee State Park down the pali to an airy spot.
The Nualolo Trail starts behind the Kokee Lodge and winds down through lush forests onto the ridge which becomes continuously steeper and narrower. The trail ends on a barren spot above the ocean. The Na Pali coast surrounds you at trail' s end. The final section to the lookout is narrow, barren, and stunningly beautiful. This is a first-rate hike in dry conditions, but a very d.ifficult one in when the route is wet. It is all downhill to the cache and a 3.75 mile climb back up. An alternate retrun route is to take the Cliff Trail over to Awaawapuni Ridge and up that ridge to create a 9.5 mile loop. Pick a morning on a clear day for this hike and cache. The cache is just a few feet from the Cliff Trail junction.
