This cache is a circular walk crossing a loop of the River Worfe.
The above co-ordinates are not for the actual cache but for nearby
parking.
To find the cache you will first need to visit ‘For What It’s
Worfe’ in which you will find the starting co-ordinates for a
“breadcrumb trail” that leads, eventually, to the final cache. From
‘For What It’s Worfe’ you will need to visit four waypoints in
succession before finding the cache. The waypoints will take you
along a marked footpath.
N.B. At Stage 2 a
path marker is missing. The path continues along the line of the
hedge. Keep to the left of the hedge to Stage 3.
You may find OS Explorer 218 useful. You will not need to stray
more than a few steps from the path as you follow the trail except
to retrieve the final cache which is about 20ft. from the footpath.
You are looking for an ammo box (won at ‘The Hides of March’ event)
which contains a selection of swaps and certificates for 1st, 2nd
and 3rd finders. From the cache return to the co-ordinates for
parking to complete the circular walk. The trail covers just under
2½ miles in total and you are advised to keep a close watch on
geokids and dogs near water and a busy main road. Unfortunately it
is not buggy or wheelchair friendly as there are several stiles to
contend with and some parts might get a little muddy in wet
weather. Within 50yds. of the alternative parking location there is
a public house, The Dog Inn and Davenport Arms, that serves food
and liquid refreshment for those cachers who may require it.
