Geocache Description:

A cache located near Dean Clough Reservoir.
My favourite location for walking the dog!
*** Warning - Photos spoiler ***

Dean Clough is approximately two and a half miles long and divided into three distinct and roughly equal sections. The upper valley is occupied by the reservoir, in the middle section the stream flows through farmland, and the lower valley is covered by the trees of Dean Wood.

In 1879 the stream that ran through this valley was dammed forming reservoirs at the western end to provide water for Great Harwood, the loss of land and farming restrictions meant some of the farms established for 100 years were abandoned.

This reservoir is rented from the water authority and is stocked three times a year with brown and rainbow trout for private fly fishing.

Limited parking is available at;
N 53.47.660 W 002.25.142 (pull in on Goldacre Lane)

Cache is a ½” screwed socket. Contains just a log sheet. Bring your own pen
