Geocache Description:

Louisville, like many eastern Boulder County towns, was founded as
a coal mining town in the late 1800s. Although Coal mining has
ceased Louisville has again recently ventured underground. This
cache brings you from then to today.

This cache requires a short
walk totaling about 2 short blocks from start back to start. To
perform this cache please make sure your GPS is set for the WGS84
datum and a heading choice of TRUE or you may miss the target.
Reading a heading is not difficult on most GPSs and is worth while
knowing. If you don’t know how you may need to dig out your
instruction booklet for a quick lesson.

At the coordinates listed
you will find a statue reflecting Louisville’s past. On the marker
plate for that statue you will find the year the statue was
dedicated, let this number be A, and you will find the date the
Louisville was founded, let this number be B, Also, count the
number of points where the statue meets its base and let this be C.

To find the cache you will have to determine the heading and
distance with the following:
Heading (in degrees from true north) = the last two digits of B minus C
Distance (in yards) = (A – B) + (sum of each digit in A) + C

How to get to the cache location: Set
a course from the statue at the calculated heading for the
calculated distance. The log only cache is hidden at this location. Not hidden in the rocks.
