32 M TO CAMDEN / 2 TO SALEM Traditional Geocache
GuentherGal:
I stopped by today and picked up this container. I have always enjoyed these old highway markers, and hope a few of you all have as well. This one had a good run. I'm moving on to new adventures which will not allow me to maintain this cache. Thanks to all who have visited. Cache on!

NewfChick and I were out caching when I spotted something on the
side of the road. I wasn’t sure if it was an odd grave marker
or what. So we turned around to do some checking. I thought it
might possibly be an historic milestone marker, and sure enough it
was!
I first became aware of these while caching in Lancaster years ago.
I have seen a few through the years, all in Pennsylvania, and all
because a cache has brought me there. So, you can imagine how happy
I was to find my very own right here in South Jersey.
As you can tell from the photograph this one is very badly eroded
and almost unreadable. You should have seen Newf and I trying to
decipher the marker! With some guessing and a bit of Internet
checking we came up with the information.
Although I have passed this stretch of road dozens of times, this
was the first time I spotted this interesting icon of days gone by.
It just makes me wonder what else I may be missing. Some of the
best times and my fondest memories are because I took a little time
to slow down and do some exploring.
The cache is a nano hidden close by. Be careful with young children
and watch for muggles as this is a busy stretch of roadway.
