The cache is hidden in Parca do Centro Cultural, one of the four largest squares in Macau. This is the cultural centre of Macau.
The Macau Cultural Centre was founded in 1999 and remains a modern space that marks the cityscape surround it. Its several venues open for the Macau audience provide quality programmes, such as performances, conferences, exhibitions, among other projects organized by CCM or hirers. The Centre include a complex with two auditoriums, an art museum and Handover Gifts Museum.
First, the Macau Museum of Art was opened in 1999. The museum is a five-storied building, which has five exhibition rooms and two exhibition areas. There is approximately 4,000 square meters of exhibition area, by far the largest collection of cultural relics and artwork in Macau. The artworks on display include calligraphy, paintings, ceramics, photography, etc, covering Chinese and Western subject matter. The Musuem is well financed and is able to change exhibits frequently.
Second, to celebrate the handing over of Macau from the Portuguese to the Chinese government, all of the provinces sent a large piece of art to Macau. A special museum has been built on the location of the handover ceremony which now houses these 56 gifts. Each of the 56 gifts reflects the artistic skills, materials and traditions of the region from which it was given. This makes the Handover Gifts Museum a rare opportunity to see a wide and diverse range of Chinese art forms and works.
