The Griffin
The story of the mythical Griffin has appeared in lore and literature for over 5000 years. This imposing creature is considered a “chimera” or hybrid. With its body of a lion and the head and wings of an eagle, the Griffin is regarded as a fierce predator and has found a home both among the Gods and common people.
Other than its ability to fight when called upon to do so, the Griffin is known for its three strengths: knowledge, healing, and guarding treasures. The Persian version of the Griffin has been around for the rebuilding of the world three times and has accumulated all the knowledge of the universe. Many mythologies mention the great healing powers and compassion of the Griffin. Thirdly, this great animal is known as a guardian of gold and other treasures.
The Griffin of Berks may have lost some of the attributes of its predecessors, but it has retained its ability to stand guard over treasure. Follow the coordinates to the Griffin's lair if you dare, the treasure will be found there!
